Bijin-ga Poster (Hakushika)

A promotional poster for unpasteurized sake released in the 1930s by Tatsuuma-Honke Brewing Co. Ltd., the brewer of “Hakushika”. In 1930, the brewery built a facility equipped with freezers and started selling unpasteurized sake to be enjoyed chilled for the summer season around 1935. The pamphlet at that time recommended that it be served with ice or carbonated water, and only sold by 300ml in a soda bottle-like packaging.
