“Products of Greater Japan Series” Shipping New Brew Sake in Settsu

Settsu’s famous sake, which was made with great care by Tamba toji, master brewers from Tamba region, was mainly consumed in Edo. At times, around 1 million barrels were shipped from Kansai area to Edo by taru-kaisen (barrel carrying ships). In addition to Osaka and Nishinomiya, they were shipped from Nada to Edo.
