“The Fifty-Three Stations by Two Brushes” Hara

Shirozake, which often appears in Ukiyo-e, is a sweet white sake made by mashing steamed glutinous rice and aging it with koji and mirin or shochu. Made in various regions, Fuji’s shirozake, currently sold around Fujinomiya City, was a specialty.
