Tokyo Story

[Fiction]
A famous film depicting the story of an elderly couple and their relationship with their grown-up children in which sake makes many appearances. Every scene portraying the father Shukichi drinking sake is immersive. And, the scene in which Noriko, the widowed daughter-in-law of the couple, borrows sake, vessels, and cups from neighbors to host the table is a moving point for the audience. The scene of the eldest daughter scolding her father for drinking excessively and when the relatives drink during dinner after the mother’s funeral depicts the changing dynamics and sometimes heartbreaking trials of a family.
