A romance story between Yusaku Godai, a man who lives in an old, ragged apartment named ‘Ikkokukan’, and Kyoko Otonashi, a widow and also the landlord of the apartment. In the story, the residents of the Ikkokukan have no privacy at all, and they drink all night long together. While sake sometimes is the cause of trouble, sometimes it helps solve it and is the factor that leads to the strengthening of relationships in the apartment. This story has been adapted into an anime, TV drama, film, and game.
