“Eight Views of Snow Scenes” Rakugan

A woman practicing the shamisen under a heated ‘kotatsu’ table, while watching the snow that has just begun to fall. We can see a pitcher of warmed sake and a cup next to her, and a group of wild geese flying in the snow outside the window. Relying on the kotatsu table and warmed sake to stay comfortable in winter has not changed over time.
