A sake designed specifically to pair with mackerel, produced by a brewery in Ibaraki Prefecture, one of Japan’s leading regions for mackerel catches. Playing on “38,” a reference to saba (mackerel), one in every 380 bottles features a special “gold mackerel” label. The sake was released on March 8.
